February 16th saw us launch Breathe Strong, our Provincial Spring raffle. Breathe Strong (previously known as Share The Air) will raise vital funds to provide patient practical support programs for the one in five Canadians left breathless by lung disease. Proceeds will support patient programs aimed at improving quality of life for those struggling to breathe and will include provision of information and educational resources, patient financial assistance programs, and disease specific support groups. 60% of us have carbon monoxide detectors in our homes which kills 38 Canadians a year. Only 6% of us have tested our homes for radon, which takes the lives of 3,200 Canadians a year.

Get the shot:The flu (influenza) is an infection of the nose, throat and lungs caused by the flu virus. Get the flu shot every year but in most people, the flu is uncomfortable, tiring, and can keep you bedridden for many days. The flu can be more serious in seniors, young children, and people with chronic (long-term) lung diseases like asthma and COPD. 
Stop the spread:Wash your hands properly and often. The most common way to catch the flu is through your hands. If you touch something with flu germs on it, then touch your eyes, nose or mouth, you could get infected with the flu. 

As a member of the Canadian Free Wills Network, The Lung Association, is pleased to offer a free Will to up to 50 of our donors and supporters in the New Year. Will services will be available through participating lawyers in Saskatoon and Regina.
