A Christmas Seals Progress Report

Regina, December 17 “ Christmas Seals have found their way into 180,000 households across Saskatchewan this holiday season.  Countless parcels, packages, and letters have been adorned with this traditional symbol since 1927 when Canada organized its first Christmas Seals campaign.  The Lung Association is pleased to report that we have passed the halfway point in our annual Christmas Seals campaign.   Over the next two weeks we are counting on the residents of Saskatchewan to help us raise another $100,000 to keep on track.

Did you know that on the global scale donations to Christmas Seals marked the turning point in the history of TB as people everywhere joined the fight against this deadly, crippling disease?  On the national stage, Christmas Seals have allowed the Lung Association to fund research, education, patient support and consumer information on asthma, COPD (which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis), lung cancer, sleep apnea, pneumonia, and many other lung diseases including TB.

Your benevolent contribution to the Lung Association is the ˜gift of better breathing' for family, friends, and neighbours across Saskatchewan this holiday season.  Please make your donation by phone at 1-888-566-LUNG, by the internet at www.sk.lung.ca/donate, or by mail to:  The Lung Association of Saskatchewan, PO Box 58000, Station Main, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 7Y4.
