Poll: Restrictions could include banning sales near schools

Canadians seem to favour some major new restrictions on cigarette retailing, such as banning tobacco from stores close to schools, or limiting sales to bars and other adults-only businesses, suggests an opinion poll commissioned by Health Canada.
The survey, obtained by the National Post under access to information legislation, also indicated that smokers would puff less if they had to travel further to buy their cigarettes. And it found strong support for licensing retailers that sell cigarettes, a measure already imposed by some provinces.
