Grade 5 student raises money for asthma

If you are looking for a good cause to support and encourage a kid with a big heart, 11-year-old Erik Olson, a Grade 5 student at St. Edward's School in Saskatoon, should be a hands-down choice.
His mom, Cheryl, says Erik is collecting pledges of support to run five kilometres at the Field House on May 25, with the money going to sponsor kids to attend the Saskatchewan Lung Association's Discovery Asthma Camp in July.
After discussing the matter further with the Lung Association of Saskatchewan, the family decided Erik would do the five-km run (he wanted to do 10, but his parents wouldn't hear of it).
"Erik will receive nothing for himself except the great feeling he will have from helping others. The lung association has provided us with donation sheets and will accept phone donations at their office," Cheryl wrote.
She says you can make a pledge by phoning 343-9511 and talking to Stella at the lung association.
