TORONTO (CP) - There is no causal link between obesity and asthma in children, a group of Toronto researchers has reported.

While the potential link has been debated for decades, a look at asthma rates among nearly 12,000 Canadian children showed no statistically significant association between the two, said Teresa To, lead author of the study. To and colleagues from the Hospital for Sick Children used data from a Statistics Canada survey to look at the issue.
