WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Pain-zapping lasers are not approved to help smokers kick their habit, but at least five companies are illegally promoting them, a consumer group said on Thursday in a petition asking U.S. health officials to intervene.
Under FDA rules, companies cannot make any claims about a product or its use until they submit data and win agency approval.
