It is Time for a Breath of Spring

Saskatoon “ January 9, 2006 - It's that time of year once again.  The Lung Association of Saskatchewan would like to bring you a Breath of Spring by delivering fresh tulips to your door. 

 

Did you know that tulips were originally native to Turkey, Iran, Syria, and parts of Asia?  It was the Dutch who began to cultivate them in the 16^th century.  During the middle ages, there was such tulip mania among the Dutch upper classes that merchants were earning up to $800 per bulb!  That would equal approximately $8 million per bulb in today's dollars!

Fortunately, our tulips do not cost that much.  We are able to offer them again for only $6.50 per bunch (5 tulips per bunch).  They will be delivered on February 21^st or 22^nd but all orders must be received by February 10^th.

Proceeds from this project support our important programs, services, and research in the areas of asthma, COPD (that includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis), lung cancer, sleep apnea, pneumonia, and other diseases of the lungs.  One in three people in Saskatchewan will suffer from some type of lung disease in their lifetime.  Help someone you know to breathe a little easier!
