Computer Training Improves Exercise Ability in COPD

HINES, Ill., April 15 -- Computer-controlled breath training may improve the ability to exercise for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), researchers here said.

 

 

The technique involves learning to slow down breathing to prevent the dynamic hyperinflation of the lungs that is a major contributor to decreased exercise tolerance.
