Council fizzles on fire pits
Randy Burton, The StarPhoenix, May 01, 2008
To suggest that dousing the blaze at midnight is a reasonable compromise is like saying a woman can be a little bit pregnant. Smoke that is a health hazard after midnight is certainly no better for you at 11 p.m. So if the idea of a time restriction is to accommodate those with breathing problems, far better to ban fires between the hours of 8 p.m. and midnight.
