Blades players with kids.Saskatoon, November 17, 2015-- The Lung Association of Saskatchewan and The Saskatoon Blades Hockey Club are teaming up for lung health!  November is lung month. To help bring awareness about the powerful organs that allow us to live and breathe, five players from the Saskatoon Blades will be visiting schools in Saskatoon and area in November to talk about how youth can keep their lungs healthy.

On Wednesday, November 18 we invite all media outlets to attend a presentation at Willowgrove School, 805 Stensrud Road from 9:30 - 10:15 am.  Players from the Saskatoon Blades as well as Jennifer Miller, Vice President of Health Promotion from The Lung Association of Saskatchewan, will be available for interviews after the presentation.

"We are excited to have Connor Gay, Ryan Graham, Brock Hamm, Cameron Hebig, and Nick Zajac from the Saskatoon Blades as our Lung Ambassadors.  These players are role models to many youth in our province and we are thrilled that they are empowering students to protect their lungs," says Miller.

"We are thrilled to once again be working with the Lung Association of Saskatchewan.  The Saskatoon Blades know firsthand the importance of lung health in kids and youth and are glad to be able to help spread this very important message to young kids all across Saskatoon," says Maclean Nelson, Manager of Communications & Community Relations for the Saskatoon Blades Hockey Club.

The Lung Association and The Saskatoon Blades are also organizing a special fundraising opportunity for all Saskatoon and surrounding area schools and sports teams.  They invite schools and teams to sell tickets to the Saskatoon Blades game on Friday, January 8, 2016.  Tickets are $15 each ($5 goes to the school or team, $5 goes to The Lung Association and $5 goes to the Saskatoon Blades).  It’s a WIN. WIN. WIN. To register and for more information visit www.sk.lung.ca
