Nilson needs to act boldly on smoking

Rather than doing his job as health minister by putting in place strong measures to protect the public from the effects of second-hand smoke, John Nilson again is resorting to what he's done all along: urging others to do the heavy work for him.
"People will come to our province and say, 'How come you allow smoking where we eat?' They already are saying that," Nilson observed Monday.
To hear him go on in this vein -- about Saskatchewan losing out on opportunities to host large conferences because of his government's gutless approach to regulating smoking in public places -- you'd think that Nilson was powerless to do anything about the problem.
