British Columbia wins a round in fight with tobacco companies

VANCOUVER (CP) - The B.C. government has won the latest round in its six-year fight to force big tobacco companies to pay for health-care spending related to smoking.

The B.C. Court of Appeal ruled Thursday that the Tobacco Damages and Health Care Costs Recovery Act is constitutionally valid.
