Saskatchewan  has 2nd highest smoking rate

According to results released June 13, 2006 by Statistics Canada from the Canadian Community Health Survey, Saskatchewan has the second highest smoking rate among the 10 provinces.   The Saskatchewan rate is 23.98%, just behind Quebec at 24.4%. BC is the lowest at 17.8%, followed by Manitoba at 20.5%.

The Mamawetan/Keewatin/Athabasca health region in Northern Saskatchewan was tied for the highest rate of smoking of any health region in the country at 35%.
